Tapescan.com is a revolutionary company that provides only one service -- the conversion of video tapes into digital files that can be downloaded immediately, saving you time and the expense of return mail. Once downloaded, you can then edit (using your favorite software), make DVDs or upload clips to websites like Youtube or Facebook (for sharing with friends and family).

How much does it cost per tape?

We offer the best pricing in the industry, with superior quality.  Pricing is only $9.95 per video tape.  If you have a Betamax, PAL, or professional tape (Beta, UMatic) or HD tape, pricing is $15.95 per video tape.  No surprise charges - guaranteed!

Do you charge if the tape is blank?

There is no charge if the tape is blank.

What video tape formats do you support?

VHS / SVHS, VHS-C, Hi8 / Digital8 / Video8, HDV and MiniDV tapes.
Professional formats like BetaSP, Betacam, Umatic, DVCPRO are also supported. Contact us!

Will you ship my tapes back to me?

Yes - we can ship your original tapes back to you for a flat shipping price of $9.95 or we can dispose of them after a 30 day period.

What type of video file will I get back from you?

Our digital files are available in MP4 or Quicktime formats. The video quality will be better than the original tape due to our Hi-Def Restore™ technology, giving you a clearer and sharper image. Click here to download a test file. We can also provide other formats upon request, including ProRes 422 files.

How long do you hold onto the video files?

We will keep a backup of your digital files for up to one year.
